Rock Art

Rock art is a discipline that needs to be studied in depth to understand the culture that created these art signatures.  Over the years, archaeologists tend to shy away from speculating the significance of petroglyph elements. We do this when we do not fully understand prehistoric societies and archaeologists cannot achieve an adequate sense of what is the significance of rock art merely by digging up a site.

Our mission at Eetza Research Associates is to inventory and study rock art to discover its significance and affinity with other cultures and sites in the region.  Better understanding rock art will aid us in increasing public awareness and appreciation of archaeological sites that contain rock art while improving the public outlook and heritage significance.

Since 2012, members of our staff have volunteered on secret projects for the Nevada Rock Art Foundation. In addition, our LCAI projects deal with sites containing rock art.
