Gene Hattori

Dr. Eugene Hattori earned a BS in Zoology from the University of Nevada-Reno; a MA and a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Washington State University.  Gene worked for the Desert Research Institute (DRI) for 5 years in addition to 5 more years of seasonal work as a student.

Gene was a field team member in the original Fowler et al. 1973 surveys in Lincoln County and participated in the later excavations of Lincoln County sites.  Additionally, Gene served as the State of Nevada Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO) archaeologist for 8 years, and has been the Curator of Anthropology at the Nevada State Museum since 1999.

Throughout Gene’s extensive carrier in archaeology has written, edited and published numerous professional technical reports.
